Los Campesinos Reserve and Manuel Antonio National Park Overnight

Los Campesinos Reserve and Manuel Antonio National Park Overnight

$225 per person

This is a trip that combines exploration in tropical forests and paradisiac beaches, peasant villages with giant waterfalls and hanging bridges. On this one-night trip, participants will have the opportunity to explore Manuel Antonio, one of the most beautiful national parks in the world, cataloged by Forbes magazine.

The most authentic experiences that reach the heart of travelers are in rural communities. Reserva Los Campesinos is the perfect example of local sustainable development, which arises thanks to the effort and perseverance of an ecological community. Focused on protecting the primary forest and with an economy that is sustained thanks to ecotourism. It is one of my favorite places in Costa Rica. A treasure that not many know of.

Day 1: Evergreeforest, waterfalls and beach sunset.
We leave San Jose at 5:30 am. Leaving early is key to successfully enjoying the morning at Los Campesinos and then have a free afternoon on the white sand tropical beach. We will stop for a rich typical breakfast en route and we will be arriving at the entrance of London of Parrita at 9am. Here we transfer to a 4x4 vehicle. Then we will travel through plantations of palm and small villages, bordering the Savegre River, each time penetrating more into the dense forest, until arriving at the Reserve the Farmers. Here we will cross the longest handmade suspension bridge in the country, 127 meters long and 40m high. Between the beautiful ‘green walls’ of vegetation there are waterfalls that fill natural lagoons, where we will enjoy a rich dip. Afterwards we will enjoy an authentic, traditional Costa Rican lunch made by ‘campesinos’ (peasant ladies) and cooked over wood. The name of the dish here in Costa Rica is Casado. We will also learn about the lifestyle of the community. After our visit to the peasants, we will arrive to Manuel Antonio at 2pm to enter the hotel and that the participants have the afternoon and night free.
Day 2- Manuel Antonio National Park, The Coastal Rain Forest.
Next morning enjoy breakfast at the hotel and we will spend the morning exploring the Manuel Antonio National Park and its beaches. It is like being in a movie! We will walk a kilometer from the entrance to the beach, through a forest full of vegetation and where you can see lazy bears, deer, the four species of monkeys that inhabit Costa Rica, including the squirrel monkey (titis), and many other species of mammals, reptiles and birds. At noon we will have lunch in Manuel Antonio in a restaurant that is famous for having an plane in the middle of the facilities, as well as having impressive views of the national park and the Manuel Antonio marine reserve. Back to San José we will stop at the Bridge of the River Taracoles, or Bridge of the Crocodiles as they call it, since you can see American crocodiles of up to 7 meters. Sometimes visitors meet up to more than thirty crocodiles, and the truth is that they are impressive! We will be back in San Jose at approximately 5pm. Includes:
  • Transportation from San José
